Description

The American School Health Association (ASHA) was established in 1927 as a national membership organization for school health professionals. The Association promotes comprehensive and coordinated school health programs. The ASHA serves as a professional liaison among the disciplines in the school health field and represents school health to public and private groups. Services offered by the ASHA include a referral service, an annual convention, publications for school health professionals, a newsletter, a members-only listserv, a peer-reviewed indexed journal, continuing education opportunities (for nurses, health educators, physicians, and mental health providers), speakers for staff development conferences and workshops, resolutions (on the Web site), and a forum for interaction among disciplines.
