NRC NAMES NEW RESIDENT INSPECTOR
U. S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission officials in Atlanta have announced the assignment of Gerald J. McCoy as a resident inspector at the Surry nuclear power station near Surry, Virginia.
Mr. McCoy joined the NRC in October 1997 as a project engineer in the NRC's Region II office in Atlanta, GA. Before joining the NRC, he worked for three years as an engineer for ADI Technology Corporation in Arlington, VA. Prior to that, he worked for twelve years as a nuclear-trained submarine officer in the United States Navy. Mr. McCoy received a B.S. degree in physics from Marquette University.
Mr. McCoy joins NRC Senior Resident Inspector Randy Musser and Resident Inspector Keith Poertner at the Surry Nuclear Station. The NRC inspectors at Surry can be reached at 757-357-2101.
