NRC ADVISORY COMMITTEE ON REACTOR SAFEGUARDS
TO MEET FEB. 7-9 IN ROCKVILLE, MD

The Nuclear Regulatory Commission’s Advisory Committee on Reactor Safeguards (ACRS) will hold a public meeting Feb. 7-9 in Rockville, Md., to discuss, among other items, final review of the license renewal application for the Vermont Yankee nuclear power station; proposed licensing strategy for the next generation nuclear plants; and results of the (nuclear plant) cable response to live fire testing and fire model improvement program.

Portions of this meeting may be closed to protect information that is proprietary and are identified in the agenda.

The ACRS advises the Commission on licensing and operation of nuclear power plants and related safety issues.
           
The meeting will be held in Room T-2B3 of the agency’s Two White Flint North building, at 11545 Rockville Pike. The sessions on Thursday and Friday will run from 8:30 a.m to 7 p.m., and Saturday’s session will run from 7:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. A complete agenda is available on the NRC’s Web site at: http://www.nrc.gov/reading-rm/doc-collections/acrs/agenda/2008.
