Qualification and Certification Unit


The Qualification and Certification Unit is responsible for administrative support of Coal Mine Safety and Health and Metal/Nonmetal Safety and Health. Records and files of qualified and certified miners and MSHA approved instructors are maintained under CFR Parts 70, 75, 55 and Part 48. Qualification and certification cards, and reports are produced and distributed and research is conducted on records and information needed by the MSHA districts and the mining industry.
