Brookwood-Sago Mine Safety Grants Assistant Secretary Stickler Announces funding and training priorities for the Brookwood-Sago Mine Safety Grants for Fiscal Year (FY) 2008 The Mine Safety and Health Administration has established a new competitive grants program to provide funding for education and training programs to help identify, avoid and prevent unsafe working conditions in and around underground coal mines. Because funding is limited, the focus of these grants will be on training materials and training programs for mine rescue and mine emergency preparedness in underground coal mines. MSHA will post the actual solicitation for grant applications electronically through http://www.Grants.gov and notify potential grantees about the solicitation by publishing this information in the Federal Register. All grantees, including faith-based organizations, will be subject to applicable Federal laws and regulations (including provisions of appropriations law) and applicable Office of Management and Budget (OMB) Circulars. The grant(s) awarded under this competitive grant program will be subject to the following administrative standards and provisions, if applicable:
