Abstract: This booklet refutes eight prevalent myths associated with urban infill housing and profiles 14 successful infill projects in 11 cities. Citing the population growth of many U.S. cities and the fact that in many cities, renters and buyers are moving to infill housing as quickly as it is being built, the booklet lists advantages and disadvantages of urban infill housing. The myths that are addressed concern the market, land assembling, financing, permit processing, environmental contamination, infrastructure, community opposition, and historic preservation requirements.
