Hazard Notification
Monitoring your mine environment for hazards that could cause injuries or deaths is not only the responsibility of the Mine Safety and Health Administration or the mine operator. You, the working miner, have that responsibility as well. No one is better prepared to identify potential hazards in the mining environment better than the working miner. Should you observe any hazards in your work environment, notify your supervisor immediately to have the situation corrected. If the problem is not corrected, do not hesitate to contact your local MSHA office. You do not have to reveal your name. Once notified, an MSHA inspector will investigate your complaint promptly. We all have a hand in improving mine safety and health. Miners, mine operators and MSHA-working together-can rid the mining industry of the dangers that injure and kill miners. Let's all do our share. Thank you for listening and remember safety is a value. |
