USAID Provides Over $34 million for Health and Education in Cambodia

The U.S. Government and the Royal Government of Cambodia on August 25 signed amendments to two bilateral agreements that will provide $34.3 million in 2008 funding from the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) to support Cambodian priorities in health and education. The new funding brings to nearly $200 million the amount that USAID has provided in support of health and education in Cambodia since 2002. (Full text) |

USAID Sends Education Expert to U.S. University

|
 A new USAID-funded scholarship program designed to train future leaders is sending a Cambodian to the U.S. this month to pursue a master’s degree in education. Dara Kim, who works in Phnom Penh for the NGO World Education, will study curriculum development for two years at Michigan State University. Kim was one of 17 students selected in the inaugural year of the program, which is called Training Future Leaders. (Full text) |
