Study Areas

The Vents Geology Program has focused its efforts at the following study areas:

Much of our work in the NE Pacific has been at sites of recent submarine volcanic eruptions. The most recent eruption was at Axial Volcano and is also the focus of the NeMO Project, a multi-year seafloor observatory.
