FOIA - Electronic FOIA Request Form
    Before making a FOIA request, members of the public are encouraged to visit the Commission’s eLibrary, which gives access electronically through the FERC Web Site to many documents issued by or submitted to the Commission. Non-public documents should be requested by filing a FOIA request.

    To make an electronic FOIA request, please complete and submit the electronic form by following the instructions provided below. However, if you believe your request is of a personal and confidential nature, you should not submit it on-line. Rather, your request should be sent directly to the FOIA Public Liaison via email at FOIA-CEII@ferc.gov, or it may be mailed to Patricia Schaub, Acting Director Chief FOIA Officer, 888 First Street, NE, Washington, DC 20426.

    * Reasonably describe the records you are seeking:
    Please provide enough detail so that knowledgeable staff may locate the record(s) with a reasonable amount of effort. The description should include time-frame to be searched, as well as titles of document and offices to be searched. The more detail you provide, the better opportunity there is to determine if the records exist and where.  The FOIA clearly states that records must exist at the time the request is submitted to be considered.

    Fee waiver justification:
    The Freedom of Information Reform Act of 1986 provides that documents are to be furnished without charge or for a reduction in established fees if disclosure of the information is in the public interest because it is likely to contribute significantly to public understanding of the operations or activities of the Government and is not primarily in the commercial interest of the requestor. If you request a waiver of fees or a reduction in fees, please explain why it is justified.
