Introduction

These narrated tutorials help small businesses apply for SBIR and STTR. They offer general advice and information on applying, as well as a visual step-by-step overview for small business applicants. Our advice comes from the knowledge and experience of NIAID staff, including former NIH grantees, and should be considered as opinion only. Differing opinions may exist.

System Requirements

The narrated animated presentations below function on all browsers and platforms that support Java applets and are set to allow pop-up windows.

If your browser lacks Java applet support, get the free Sun Microsystems Java™ Virtual Machine. Your display resolution should be automatically set by JavaScript. If your browser's JavaScript is turned off, use our manual control section below to start a presentation.

Presentation Controls

  • We suggest you first print the PDF version of each presentation so you can follow along and take notes. The PDF also serves as an accessible version for Section 508 compliance.
  • Next, check that your sound is turned on and your browser is set to allow popup windows.
  • Begin a presentation by selecting a connection speed below.
  • The presentations have navigation and search buttons. Pause the presentation and click on a link to open it in a new window. When you are done with the link, use the play button to continue the presentation.
