Military Compensation Background Papers

This two-volume document is a legislative and regulatory history of military compensation, benefits, and manpower cost items, published under the auspices of the Department of Defense, Under Secretary of Defense for Personnel and Readiness. It serves as an authoritative reference tool for all researchers interested in the U.S. military compensation system. Print copies of all the earlier editions (first through fifth, 1976–1993) are available in the Library of Congress collections, call numbers UC74.B37 and UC74.M67.
