The Images offered here were produced in the National Geophysical Data Center's Marine Geology & Geophysics Division (with the exception of the sea floor topography from satellite altimetry images, produced by Dr. Walter Smith of NOAA). Some images were produced at NGDC in cooperation with scientists from other organizations, including but not limited to the University of Colorado Cooperative Institute for Research in Environmental Sciences (CIRES). These images are in the public domain, with the exception of images in outside publications to which we may provide links (disclaimer and copyright information). We are pleased to see NGDC-generated images throughout the web, and appreciate links back to this page.
