water drop. The 7th Annual Southeastern Pennsylvania Coast Day will take place on Saturday, September 20, 2008 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Walnut Plaza on Penn's Landing in Philadelphia, Pa. Sponsored by the Partnership for the Delaware Estuary and others, this event is free to the public and will feature informational tables, water-related kids' activities and crafts, a free shuttle to the Fairmount Water Works Interpretive Center and the American Philosophical Society Museum, and also trips on the Ride the Ducks amphibious vehicle. Further, the Independence Seaport Museum, located at Penn's Landing, will offer reduced admission of $5 per person in honor of the festivities. For additional details, please click here.

The Northeast Summit on Monitoring Technologies and Early Warning Systems for Drinking Water Supplies will occur on Thursday October 2, 2008 at the New Jersey Rutgers Ecocomplex in Bordentown, N.J. This all-day water security seminar, presented by the DRBC and the Philadelphia Water Department in cooperation with the Water Resources Association of the Delaware River Basin (WRADRB), examines the efforts underway to improve incident detection and notification within drinking water supplies. The program will include some of the leading figures nationally on the questions of water security and monitoring technologies, as well as a comparison of experiences of four early warning systems in the northeast region. Attendance at this event will qualify for NJ and PA Training Contact Hours for operator license renewal (additional information can be obtained from WRADRB at 610-917-0090, 610-917-0091, or info@wradrb.org). Registration forms and checks for the registration fee should be sent to WRADRB. In order to guarantee your reservation, payment must be received by September 29, 2008.

water drop. The University of Delaware's Coast Day will take place on Sunday, October 5, 2008 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Hugh R. Sharp Campus in Lewes, Del. This free event, hosted by the University of Delaware and Delaware Sea Grant Program, began 31 years ago and last year attracted over 10,000 visitors! Come and enjoy hands-on exhibits, crab races, lectures, ship and laboratory tours, and more. water drop. Coast Day New Jersey will take place on Sunday, October 12, 2008 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Lobster House Restaurant, Utsch's Marina, Cape May, N.J. This free event, sponsored by the New Jersey Marine Sciences Consortium and its partners, will feature informational exhibits, touch tanks, nature walks at the N.J. water drop. The New Jersey Association of Floodplain Management will hold its 4th Annual Conference Tuesday - Wednesday, October 21-22, 2008 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Cherry Hill, N.J. This conference is intended for planners, emergency managers, engineers, government officials, and individuals interested in floodplain management in New Jersey. The 2-day conference costs $175 if registered prior to September 12, $200 thereafter, and a limited number of discounted rooms are available for overnight accommodations. The Delaware River Greenway Partnership (DRGP) is celebrating its 10th anniversary with Discover the Delaware - Your River, Your Region, a day of presentations by the region's top experts on the history, ecology and culture of our region's defining natural resource.
