AFGHANISTAN: IRC AID WORKERS KILLED
Four of our aid workers were tragically killed on August 13th in an ambush. The IRC, which has provided humanitarian relief and recovery aid in Afghanistan for 20 years, has suspended programs to give time for grieving and to evaluate the security situation

Georgia Crisis
Nearly 160,000 people have been displaced by the violent conflict in Georgia and South Ossetia and are living in bleak conditions. The IRC is rushing in relief supplies, repairing broken water and sanitation systems in temporary shelters and helping traumatized children.

IRC to Begin Aid in Syria
The IRC is launching aid programs in Syria, where an estimated one million Iraqi refugees are struggling to cope with deteriorating conditions. We continue to help displaced families in Iraq and Jordan and those given refuge in the U.S.
