Program Purpose
To develop and deploy a management information tool to assist State DOTs and metropolitan planning organizations (MPOs) develop their transportation improvement programs and to carry out other transportation planning responsibilities, particularly public participation in the transportation planning process.

Funding
Funded by set-aside from Surface Transportation Research funds authorized in 5101(a)(1). The Federal share of the cost of activities is 50%.
Program Contents
This is a continuation of a cooperative agreement with the New Jersey Institute of Technology to develop and deploy the TELUS software to State DOTs and MPOs. Continuing activities under this cooperative agreement include:
- Marketing the TELUS software through key stakeholder organizations (AMPO, NARC, AASHTO) to their members.
- Enhancement of existing TELUS software to incorporate new planning provisions resulting from SAFETEA-LU.
- Enhancement of existing TELUS software to create a paperless TIP/STIP submission and approval process.
- Ongoing training and technical assistance to TELUS users.
