June 20, 2008A weather map showing heavy precipitation and flooding in the midwest states.

Our country has really taken a beating with so many weather disasters. Now the Midwest is going through one of the toughest times in years. USA.gov has an informative page called Midwest Flood Response and Recovery. Residents can find out where to file an insurance claim after a flood, find family and friends, safety advice on drinking water, mold, and septic systems, and lots of other helpful information. This information can be found in Spanish on GobiernoUSA.gov's Inundaciones en la zona central de EE. UU.: respuesta y recuperación. The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has a new page Midwest Flood Response; it contains valuable information that will be helpful in reducing further loss of life and property.
