Volunteers for Prosperity is pleased to announce that it will be joining the Corporation for National and Community Service and the Points of Light Foundation in sponsoring the Second International Roundtable on Service and Volunteerism to be held August 3, 2005 in Washington, DC. Event hosts will include United Nations Volunteers, International Association for Volunteer Effort, Washington University's Global Service Institute, and other leading NGOs and international service organizations.

Through plenary discussions and breakout sessions, the event will highlight and showcase best practices, policies and initiatives on topics such as volunteerism and national service, engagement of volunteers in meeting global development challenges, conflict resolution, volunteer response to disasters, and the role of the private sector in volunteerism. The event also precedes the National Conference on Volunteering and Service scheduled for August 4-6, 2005 in Washington , DC .
