ORNL is Putting Science to Work through
an aggressive program to provide technology-based solutions through
the licensing of our intellectual property. We currently have over
100 active licenses with organizations ranging from start-ups to
Fortune 100 companies to academic institutions. We view the execution
of a license as marking the beginning of a relationship, not the
end. We work closely with our licensees, particularly early-stage
companies, to ensure the successful commercialization of our technologies.
The incredible innovation of our researchers has resulted in over
850 active patents and almost 500 patent applications. Much of
this intellectual property is available for licensing, and we have
included descriptions of these available technologies on this Web
site for your review. Because of the dynamic nature of these lists,
