Having witnessed the results of ineffective policy after Hurricane Katrina, Sarah is committed to make government programs more efficient and accountable. She is most concerned with issues of public housing, wealth inequality and poverty. She is currently interning at the Idea Village, developing strategic business centers to revitalize New Orleans neighborhoods. On Tulane’s campus, she leads a peer health-education group, is part of the Roosevelt Institution, chairs “Students Organized against Racism”, is on the honor board and is a member of Chi Omega Fraternity. She has worked for the Obama campaign, as well as campaigns for local New Orleans elections. Sarah will be attending the 2008 Junior Summer Institute for Public Policy and International Affairs at the Woodrow Wilson School of Princeton University and then studying abroad in Granada, Spain, for the fall semester.
