HRSD
has begun the process
of converting all
Official Personnel
Folders (OPF's)
and other official
human resources
files to electronic
format. The U.S.
Office of Personnel
Management is leading
a government-wide
effort to accomplish
this. USDA has chosen
what is called "Quick
Start" to launch
the project. Over
the next one to
two years, all existing
OPF's will be scanned
into electronic
format and all new
documents such as
SF-50's (Notifications
of Personnel Action)
will be produced
electronically only.
All employees will
have 24/7 read-only
access to their
own files and will
be able to print
out documents. Read
