Visitor Services hours of operation are from 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Eastern Time Monday–Thursday.

The Y-12 National Security Complex resides in an especially beautiful part of our state. Though situated in a valley between the Great Smoky Mountains and the Cumberland Mountains, the facility is not at all difficult to reach. The Y-12 Complex is only minutes from the City of Oak Ridge, under 30 minutes from Knoxville, and within easy driving distance of McGhee-Tyson International Airport.

The information on our website is intended to help you prepare for your visit. Because Y-12 plays an integral role in support of our nation’s nuclear defense policies, you will want to become acquainted with basic security and safety rules and procedures. All visitors must read the Oak Ridge Y-12 Site Visitor General Employee Training Safety Overview information before they enter the Complex.
