Bridgette Ellis
Senior Vice President, Office of Environment and Research, and Environmental Executive
Bridgette Ellis is the Senior Vice President of the Office of Environment and Research. Ellis is responsible for the leadership and direction
of TVA’s corporate environmental management activities, stewardship activities, agency research and development including
environmental research, energy research and technology
advancements, and resource management. Ellis serves as Environmental Executive responsible for development of agency
environmental policy and strategy.
She is also responsible for the management of agency lands; stewardship of the region’s cultural and natural resources including recreation; protection of the environment; agricultural resource development; environmental research and development programs; and resource management services internal and external to the agency. Ellis serves as the agency’s Preservation Officer.
Previously, Ellis served as Senior Vice President of Environmental Stewardship and Policy. In that capacity, she was responsible for leading and managing TVA’s environmental stewardship and environmental strategy functions.
Ellis’ staff received the Federal Government’s Office of Management Budget Award for the highest rating for effectiveness in natural resource stewardship in the federal government. Her staff was also awarded the National Benchmark Award from the Environmental Protection Agency for watershed planning and improvements.
Ellis serves on the University of Tennessee Knoxville Forestry, Wildlife, and Fisheries Advisory Board and the Friends of Sequoyah Birthplace Museum Board. Ellis earned a BS degree in Forestry and an MBA from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville.
