New Insurance Providers Approved for 2009 Reinsurance Year
RMA has approved the Standard Reinsurance Agreement for Hudson Insurance
Company and The Insurance Company of the State of Pennsylvania for 2009,
and the Livestock Price Reinsurance Agreement for Casualty Underwriters Insurance
Company.

September 30 Sales Closing Dates Near
RMA reminds producers that Sep 30, 2008, is the sales closing date for many fall-planted crops.
Crops that may need to be insured by this date include: alfalfa seed, barley, canola, cultivated wild rice,
forage production, mint, oats, potatoes, rye, sugarcane, and wheat.

FCIC Board Extends Biotechnology Coverage Areas, Qualifying Hybrids
USDA’s Federal Crop Insurance Corporation Board of Directors, at
its Aug 14, 2008 meeting, approved additional seed technologies and states for a premium
rate reduction for producers who plant certain qualifying corn hybrids.
