Infant Toddler Early Intervention Program (DDD)

What the program covers: The Infant Toddler Early Intervention Program (ITEIP) provides early intervention services, including family resources coordination, for eligible children from birth to age 3 and their families. All children, birth to three, including children at risk for developmental delays, are entitled to participate in the following components with the consent of their parent(s): early identification, multidisciplinary evaluation, and determination of eligibility for early intervention services. Some early intervention services are provided through contracts with county governments.

Who is eligible: To be eligible for ITEIP services, a child must have a 25% delay or show a 1.5 standard deviation below his/her age in one or more of the following developmental areas: cognitive, physical, communication, social or emotional or adaptive. A child may also be eligible if he or she has a physical or mental condition such as Down Syndrome that is known to cause a delay in development.

For more detailed eligibility information, go to the ITEIP website: http://www.dshs.wa.gov/iteip/Services_Elig.htm

Income and Resource Limits: None.

Program Requirements: The child must meet eligibility criteria and have an Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP).

Other Requirements: All children, birth to three, including children at risk for developmental delays, are entitled to participate in the following components with the consent of their parent(s): early identification, multidisciplinary evaluation, and determination of eligibility for early intervention services. Washington State currently does not provide early intervention services to at risk infants and toddlers.
