Goals of this Event

The event will be the first step in shaping the scope and agenda of an ongoing national public-private dialogue on ensuring profitability and competitiveness in sustainable manufacturing.

With that in mind, participants from both the private and public sector are asked to come prepared to provide individual views on such issues as:

• What are U.S. industry’s most pressing challenges and concerns with regard to profiting from sustainable manufacturing practices?
• What does the USG need to do to help U.S. firms maintain/gain competitive advantage in applying, selling and inventing sustainable manufacturing techniques (basic challenges where USG can help, current areas that need less USG intervention, etc.)?
• Are there positives, negatives and gaps in Commerce and USG programs/initiatives that assist and provide incentives to private sector firms who want to be more sustainable?
