World Trade Organization (WTO)
The USITC Office of Economics monitors selected activities and developments of the World Trade Organization (WTO), the international organization located in Geneva, Switzerland, that was established by the Uruguay Round of multilateral trade negotiations to oversee the rules and disciplines that govern international trade through the provisions of the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade (GATT). USITC coverage of WTO activity can include multilateral trade negotiations, such as the Uruguay Round and Doha Development Agenda, as well as WTO organizational developments, such as dispute settlement developments or WTO accession negotiations.
