Marine Geology DataBLM/OCS South Texas Outer Continental Shelf (STOCS) Data SetNGDC Data Set G02888NOTE: PLEASE CITE ORIGINAL REFERENCE WHEN USING THESE DATASUMMARYThis data set contains analytical data from samples acquired from the South Texas Outer Continental Shelf (STOCS) Project, part of the BLM/OCS program funded by NOAA and the Bureau of Land Management (BLM). The data set consists of two parts: 1) MGG06105001 received at NGDC May 28, 1976 from Henry Berryhill, USGS Office of Marine Geology, Corpus Christi, TX, in fulfillment of Contract no. BLM-08550-MU5-20, and 2) MGG03565001 received at NGDC in 1977 from W.E. Behrens of the University of Texas, also part of the STOCS project. Data set MGG06105001 contains multiple data types with accompanying formats and documentation. Grain size data from 06105001 contained too many errors to be processed into the NGDC digital grain size database. Data set MGG03565001 is grain size data in the historic NODC 073 format. These data were incorporated into the NGDC digital grain size database. SEARCHABLE DATA INVENTORY NGDC/WDC GMG, Boulder archives a wide variety of digital marine geology data collections, paper reports, microfilm, etc. containing sediment and hardrock data. Many of the digital files are available for direct download. Sample-by-sample inventory information for all data, regardless of format available from NGDC are fully searchable through the marine geology inventory (GEOLIN). |
