Foreign Volunteer Information

428.21 Citizenship

Volunteers need not be citizens of the United States; however, they should be citizens of allied countries. The International Programs Division provides leadership in coordinating all matters with foreign countries. All requests from foreign visitors who desire to be Earth Team Volunteers must be forwarded to the International Programs Division. The International Programs Division will review each request to determine if it is appropriate for NRCS to accept the application. All International visitors will be asked to provide the following information to the International Programs Division:

  1. Name
  2. Home address
  3. Country of citizenship
  4. Reason visitor is in the U.S.
  5. Brief description of duties as NRCS volunteer
  6. Dates of program
  7. Goals and objectives of visitor
  8. How technology gained from NRCS will be used by volunteer

If accepted, projects will be developed and tailored to the needs, capabilities and desires of the visitor.  Once approval has been received from the International Programs Division, enrollment requirements are the same for citizens and non-citizens.
