Highest State unemployment rates in 2007

In 2007, the State with the highest unemployment rate was Michigan at 7.2 percent.

Mississippi (6.3 percent) and Alaska (6.2 percent) had the next highest rates in 2007. All three States had the same rankings in 2006.

The annual average U.S. jobless rate was 4.6 percent in 2007.
