Comprehensive Candida Albicans Database Launched

January 18, 2005

NIDCR grantees recently launched a comprehensive database on the human fungal pathogen Candida albicans. Called the Candida Genome Database, this new online resource is freely available to all members of the research community.  The database provides comprehensive literature curation that complements existing sequence-based annotation and provides centralized information, such as a gene-name registry, for the Candida research community.  It will soon also offer a more extensive set of sequence retrieval and analysis tools.  The database was described in detail in a recent special issue of the journal Nucleic Acids Research.  Read more about the Candida Genome Database or visit the database web site.
