U.S. Department of Justice,
Office of Public Affairs
Get Ready to Meet the Press
The Office of Public Affairs is the principle point of contact
between the Department of Justice and the public and news media.
The office handles the press affairs of the United States Attorney
General and advises the Attorney General and other DOJ officials on
all aspects of media relations and communications issues. Four
interns are selected each semester (including the summer) to assist
in the office. The interns should be college juniors or seniors with
an interest in public policy, journalism, communications, or political
science.
Interns assist with a variety of projects and attend the Attorney
General's weekly press meetings. Projects include compiling and
updating media lists, assisting with press releases, answering media
requests, and research. The office provides a unique look into the
benefits of public service, as well as the opportunity to work with
members of the press and share in their experiences. Those interested
in applying should contact the Intern Coordinator at 202-514-2008.
