"Lowell's and Dave's leadership and technical knowledge will serve them well in their new positions," said Commissioner Johnson. "They will be a tremendous asset to Reclamation now and into the future."

As Director Technical Service Center, Pimley will be responsible for Reclamation's engineering, science, research, and support center. Pimley previously was the Chief of the Technical Service Center's Civil Engineering Services Division where he oversaw staff involved in the planning, design, research, and construction management of civil works construction projects.

Pimley joined Reclamation in 1980 as a civil engineer where he directed and conducted designs for structural, hydraulic, and geotechnical considerations on projects including tunnels, dam outlet works, large pipelines and inspected construction activity on similar projects. In 1992, he became a supervisory civil engineer where he was responsible for planning studies, designs, design reviews, and construction support on a variety of water resource and related projects. He has a bachelor's and masters degree in civil engineering from Montana State University.

As Senior Advisor - Power Liaison, Sabo will be responsible for Reclamation's Hydropower Program and working on intergovernmental initiatives related to power. He previously was the deputy regional director for the Upper Colorado Region in Salt Lake City.

Sabo joined Reclamation in 2002 as the area manager in Klamath Falls, Ore., where he dealt with some of the most controversial water issues in the country. Prior to Reclamation, he was the manager of the Western Area Power Administration's Colorado River Storage Project Management Center in Salt Lake City. While with the Western Area Power Administration, he also managed the Environmental and Public Affairs Office and served as the agency's representative working on the Glen Canyon Environmental Impact Statement and subsequent Adaptive Management Work Group, the Upper Colorado Endangered Fishes Recovery Program, and other numerous projects benefiting Native Americans.

Before joining the Federal Government, Sabo worked for the Public Service Company of New Mexico where he was the Lead Power Contracts Administrator. He worked on contract negotiations, power sales, and strategic planning focused on utility restructuring efforts and was involved in several special projects related to water supplies. He graduated from the University of New Mexico with a bachelor's and master's degree where he studied biology, chemistry, and computer science.

Pimley will assume his new position on September 15 and Dave is scheduled to assume his new position on September 29.
