89
works selected from the gifts and bequest of Paul Mellon were presented to
recognize his extraordinary generosity to the National Gallery of Art. Shown
were French, British and American paintings, sculpture, drawings, watercolors,
and prints. A section of the exhibition was devoted to the work of Edgar Degas
and included the sculpture Little Dancer Aged Fourteen in both wax and plaster
versions.
