Trade Deficit Increases in July 2008

The Nation's international deficit in goods and services increased to $62.2 billion in July from $58.8 billion (revised) in June, as imports increased more than exports. (11 September 2008)

2007 Annual Revisions

In this release and the accompanying "U.S. International Trade in Goods and Services: April 2008," the U.S. Census Bureau and the U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis (BEA) are jointly publishing revised data on U.S. trade in goods for 2005-2007 and the first three months of 2008 and revised data on services for 2004-2007 and the first three months of 2008. The U.S. Census Bureau, U.S. Department of Commerce, announced today that in 2007 related-party trade accounted for 40.6 percent ($1,264 billion) of total goods trade. (9 May 2008)
