Demand-side management technology workshops continue

Western is co-sponsoring a series of DSM workshops highlighting technology that can help utilities to better manage their loads. Focusing on lighting, the series continues with two workshops: one in Sioux Falls, S.D., Sep. 24, and one in Grand Island, Neb., on Oct. 9. Reserve your place now!

Conference call kicks off "Change the World" campaign

Mark your calendars for Wednesday, Aug. 27, 2 p.m. ET for the "Change the World" campaign conference call, hosted by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and Energy Star. The call will go over the new Change the World campaign, and highlight what to expect this fall.

Time will be set aside for questions and answers, as well. A presentation and call-in information will be sent prior to the call. Contact Lisa Meck with questions or concerns, or if you cannot attend the call but would like to participate.  If a significant number of pledge drivers cannot attend, a make-up call will be considered.

Army recognizes Western employee for renewable energy project

At the 30th Annual Secretary of the Army Energy and Water Management Awards in Phoenix, Ariz., Western and Melanie Reed of Western's Rocky Mountain Region received an award for Superior Achievement on an Installation for Renewable/Alternative Energy.  Read more

Western's new IRP rules announced

The Federal Register Notice announcing revisions to Western's integrated resource planning (IRP) rules is now online. The new regulations go into effect  July 21, 2008. See the press release or read more about the details in the Energy Services Bulletin.

Online Key Account Tool Box now available

Western has launched a powerful new information resource for publicly-owned utilities and their key customers. The online Key Account Tool Box is a portal to thousands of resources about energy efficiency and renewable technologies, utility programs and best practices for businesses. Read more.

Equipment Loan Program seeks new tools

The Equipment Loan program, which allows Western customers to “test-drive” technical diagnostic tools and education kits, is looking for new technologies to add to its library.

Have you heard about a new tool that could increase your operation’s efficiency or help your consumers cut their energy costs? Maybe you would like more units of an in-demand technology, like our popular infrared cameras.

Use the online Equipment Request Form to submit your suggestions, and enter your idea in the “Comments” field. You can also call the Equipment Loan program manager with your requests at 720-962-7420.
