America the Beautiful - Interagency Recreation Pass
In 2007, The Federal Government announced an all inclusive Interagency Recreation Pass titled "America the Beautiful - the National Parks and Federal Recreational Lands Pass"
Beginning January 2007, visitors who frequent America's public lands for enhanced recreation site opportunities managed by five federal agencies will benefit from a new, more convenient, single interagency recreation pass program. The program features on interagency pass for streamlined access to enhanced recreation sties magaged by the five federal land management agencies including; The National Park Service, the Bureau of Land Management (BLM), the Forest Service, the Fish and Wildlife Service and the Bureau of Reclamation. The new program replaces the Golden Eagle, Golden Age and Golden Access Passports and the National Parks Pass. (Existing passes will remain valid until expired, lost or stolen).
Many recreation uses and activities continue to be free on all National Forests, such as general access, pass-through travel, scenic overlooks and pullouts, parking on teh side of roads and walk-up camping at undeveloped sites.
The new Interagency Pass Program consists of four different passes.
- Annual Pass for the general public. Provides unlimited coverage of entrance and standard amenity recreation fees at all federal recreation sites.
- The pass is good at vehicle-based entry sites for all occupants in a single, non-commercial vehicle.
- The pass will cover the access or use for the passholder(s) on two motorcycles (both signatures must be on the pass).
- At walk up sites, the pass is good for the passholder and three adults (total of four adults). Children under 16 are admitted free of charge.
- Ten-dollar lifetime Senior Pass for citizens 62 or over
- The Senior Pass admits the pass holder and any accompanying passengers in a single private vehicle at sites wtih a vehicle-entrance fee.
- The Senior Pass will cover the acces or use for the passholder on one motorcycle only.
- At walk up sites, the pass is good for the passholder and three adults (total of four adults). Childer under 16 are admitted free of charge.

- Free annual Volunteer Pass for volunteers acquiring 500 hours of service on a cumulative basis

American Fork Recreation Fee Demonstration
The American Fork Canyon - Alpine Scenic Loop Backway is more popular
than ever. It is estimated that over a million people visit the canyon
annually. Due to heavy use, the recreational areas and natural and cultural
resources of the canyon are being impacted. As part of the Recreation
Fee Demonstration Poject, the fees collected at the entrance station remain
in the area to improve visitor services, maintain recreation facilities,
enhance wildlife habitat and protect natural resources.
The following passes are available for purchase at the entrance stations
and self-service fee tubes:
- 3-Day -- $6.00
- 7-Day -- $12.00
- Annual -- $45.00
America the Beautiful - Interagency Recreation Pass, Golden Eagle, Golden Age and Golden Access passports are honored. Campground
