To Report Sick or Dead Wild Birds:
Birds die for many reasons, but the highly pathogenic H5N1 has been the cause of deaths of wild birds in Europe and Asia. Do not handle any sick or dead birds you find. If you encounter dead or sick wild birds, and no obvious cause is apparent, such as hitting a power line or building, call 1-866 5BRDFLU (1-866-527-3358). Please note the location (GPS coordinates are best), species of bird, and the date and time that you found them.
