What do I do if I did not receive my Social Security check?
  Question
What do I do if I did not receive my Social Security check?
  Answer

If you are receiving checks by mail, wait 3 days after the date you normally receive your check. If still not received contact us at 1-800-772-1213. You should also consider receiving future checks by direct deposit.

Follow this guide to determine if your check is late:

Social Security
benefits are paid on
If your birth
date is on
Second Wednesday 1 st - 10 th
Third Wednesday 11 th - 20 th
Fourth Wednesday 21 st - 31st

All Social Security beneficiaries receiving benefits prior to May, 1997 will continue to receive benefits on the 3rd.  See our  schedule of check payment dates.

If you normally receive your check by direct deposit to your bank, report a non receipt of payment immediately to 1-800-772-1213. People who are deaf or hard of hearing may call our toll-free TTY number, 1-800-325-0778, between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. on Monday through Friday.
