Executive Office of the President, Office of Management and Budget, Commerce Branch

LOCATION: 725 17th Street, NW, Washington, DC; New Executive Office Building

POSITION TITLE: Program Examiner

DURATION: 3 months to permanent

SHORT DESCRIPTION: This position focuses on the international trade and domestic economic development programs of the Department of Commerce (i.e., the International Trade Administration, Economic Development Administration, and Minority Business Development Agency) and three regional development agencies--the Appalachian Regional Commission, Delta Regional Authority, and Denali Commission. In addition, the position may involve work on Small Business Administration issues and other budget, management, and policy responsibilities of the Branch.

DESCRIPTION OF RESPONSIBILITIES: Conduct analyses of policy, budget, and management issues related to program areas; monitor and analyze legislative proposals and testimony for conformance with the policies and priorities of the President; review and prepare formal budget submissions, amendments, supplemental, and other necessary materials to support Presidential programs; develop options based on detailed analysis, frequently of a quantitative nature.

EXPERIENCE: All PMFs looking for an extended detail opportunity are encouraged to apply. Good economic and communications skills are a plus.
