The purpose of the International Victimology Website is to freely provide a global platform for everybody working in or associated with victimology, victim support and allied disciplines and bring international research within reach and give the global victimology community a voice.

IVW is hosted by the International Victimology Institute Tilburg (INTERVICT) at Tilburg University, the Netherlands.

We provide information about policy, victimology research and about what works and what does not, what looks promising in victim services and the prevention of crime and abuse of power.  We also encourage the international exchange of expertise and experiences.  On this Website you will  find: the latest news, a calendar of victimological events, links to organisations and resources, research information, legal documents, and a discussion forum.

This is the place to meet fellow researchers and policymakers through our online community.  You can post messages for the global victimology community in the News section, submit links in the Bookmarks section and add your organisation’s event in the Events section.  We also send a monthly newsletter to those on our e-mailing list, passing on news from the field.  This Website bridges any distance.  Although mainly in English, there is also material in other languages.  Anyone can make their contribution.  This is YOUR community.
