About OCRWM
OCRWM's purpose is to safely manage and dispose of America's spent nuclear fuel and high-level radioactive waste.

The Office of Civilian Radioactive Waste Management was established in 1982 under the Nuclear Waste Policy Act. OCRWM Program Director Edward (Ward) Sproat reports to Secretary of Energy Samuel Bodman.
