DESCRIPTIVE TEXT NARRATIVE FOR SMOKE/DUST OBSERVED IN SATELLITE IMAGERY

Impact of Western fires: Fires in California, (Park County) Wyoming and (Carbon County) Montana, have combined to produce: Dense smoke in eastern Wyoming, western South Dakota and northwest Nebraska; Moderate to dense smoke from northern California to eastern Washington; and A large area of light smoke covering all or portions of California, Nevada, Utah, Arizona, New Mexico, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, South Dakota, North Dakota and Colorado. Impact of Canadian Fires: Moderately dense to dense smoke from the fires in northern Saskatchewan, north of Lake Athabasca, and the fires in the Northwest Territories can be seen stretching from the Beaufort Sea, through northern portions of the Yukon, the southern Northwest Territories into northern Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba and then across Hudson Bay. Eastern Half of the US: A combination of smoke from the Western and Canadian fires has produced a large area of light to isolated moderate smoke across the Upper Midwest, Great Lakes, Mid Atlantic, New England and the western Atlantic Ocean.
