Environment, Safety and Health Division (SC-31.1)

The Environment, Safety and Health Division:

  • serves as the Office of Science (SC) focal point for ES&H issues, including integrated safety management (ISM);
  • develops and promulgates SC-specific ES&H policy;
  • provides ES&H guidance, direction and staff support to SC Program and Field Offices;
  • represents SC on DOE-wide and Federal Government-wide ES&H policy development activities;
  • Conducts management assessments of ES&H data and ES&H-related actions on facilities funded by SC;
  • Serves as the Office of Primary Interest for the DOE order on Accelerator Safety (DOE 420.2A).
