19ID & 19BM Beamtime Application
SBC considers beamtime requests on 19ID and 19BM on continuing basis. Proposals for beamtime and beamtime requests are made via APS General User Proposal system (GUP). Typically two or three day slots will be awarded based on the proposal requirement. Currently the estimated cycle time from the date of submission to scheduled beamtime is on average approximately 6 months for regular beamtime allocations. Rapid access beamtime allocations are also considered. If you want to insure that you collect data at SBC only specify SBC as you 1st and 2nd choice and that the "any appropriate beamline check box" is unchecked . It's necessary that you make a formal request for additional beamtime against your program proposal for each APS run that you desire beamtime for the two year duration of the proposal. To do this, log onto the APS proposal form page and click ADDITIONAL BEAMTIME FOR GUP____ .
Thank you for your interest in the SBC program.
! We look forward to receiving your proposal. Obtain Beam Time at APS
