Guam Loses Another Son in Afghanistan

(OIA) August 8, 2008 - The Department of Defense announced today the death of a sailor who was supporting Operation Enduring Freedom.  Petty Officer Second Class Anthony M. Carbullido, 25, of Agat, Guam, died Aug. 8, in Sangatesh, Afghanistan, from injuries suffered when his convoy vehicle hit an improvised explosive device.   He was assigned to the Naval Hospital Corps School in Great Lakes, Illinois.

PO2 Carbullido is survived by his parents who live on Guam and his wife and daughter, both of whom live in Chicago.

Petty Officer Carbullido is the 15th from Guam and the 31st from the Micronesia region to have died since the beginning of the War on Terror.  Click here to see all known deaths from the Insular Areas.
