We have a trading report that placement of the WISE EARS!® "health tips" and owl with web page has appeared in 232 newspaper articles in 22 states with a readership of more than 16.6 million! The placements include 12 of the top 50 newspaper markets. We will update this number in future mailings.
New Reporting Data
The latest tracking information shows that 8 million Americans have seen the television spots about WISE EARS!®.
Enclosed are copies of ads in the AAO-HNS Bulletin and Volta Voices. These journals used the ad slick to publicize WISE EARS!® and their membership in the coalition. We are enclosing ad slicks in this mailing for your use.

NIOSH has added more noise-induced hearing loss information to their web site and a link to the WISE EARS!® web site. Please visit www.cdc.gov/niosh.
The American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) has announced the following prevention materials currently available:
- "Pump Down the Volume," a poster targeting the prevention of noise-induced hearing loss
- ASHA Guidelines for Audiologic Screening
- Table-top display for the prevention of hearing disorders, for use at conferences and conventions
- "Prevention of Communication Disorders: Healthy People 2000," which describes ASHA's involvement in supporting WISE EARS!®
Gordon Berg of Dalloz Safety in Sweden let us know that Horselskadades Riksforbund, the national organization for hearing impaired people in Sweden, has the largest campaign against tinnitus in Swedish history and Bilsom is the largest sponsor.
The NIDCD distributed WISE EARS!® materials at the American Association of Family Physicians in Orlando and the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery national meeting in New Orleans.
