Purpose of the Regional Meetings

Healthy People 2010 is the national prevention initiative to improve health in the first decade of the 21st century. As the third set of national targets established for health promotion and disease prevention, it has 467 objectives.

A draft of Healthy People 2010 was published in the fall of 1998 for public comment. As part of this process, five Regional Meetings were held to help gather feedback.
