Access: Permitted; subject to P&P policy on serving originals.

Reproduction (photocopying, hand-held camera copying, photoduplication and other forms of copying allowed by "fair use"): Permitted; subject to P&P policy on copying.

Publication and other forms of distribution: Works created after January 1, 1978 are protected by copyright during the photographer's lifetime, plus seventy years. For images created prior to January 1, 1978, a copyright search should be conducted. Ernest Withers is represented by photography dealer Carole Thompson. While Ms. Thompson cannot control use of P&P images that are not under copyright, patrons are advised that Ernest Withers is still alive, and has expressed interest in the use of his images.
