Recruitment Bonuses for Food Inspector
|
|
|
The USDA Food Safety and Inspection Service offers Recruitment Bonuses ranging from $2,500.00 up
to 25% of base pay! These bonuses differ by location, and are pre-established based on hiring
needs. Bonus amounts apply only in certain locations, and they are not negotiable. This bonus is
being offered to food inspector eligibles who are not current Federal employees
(former employees must have had a break in service of 90 days or more) and who will accept a
position in the locations listed below.
To be eligible for this bonus, you must meet a number of requirements. You must complete the
Online Food Inspector Questionnaire, submit your application and be found qualified. When taking the
online questionnaire you will be asked to select up to five geographic areas where you would be
interested in working. See the Geographic Codes listing
(PDF Only) for the zones corresponding to the locations identified
to receive the bonuses.
If you pass the online questionnaire and are found qualified, you will then be available for full-time
food inspector vacancies. If you are formally selected for a vacancy in one of the locations listed
below and you begin working, we will process the recruitment bonus at that time.
This hiring incentive only applies to those accepting positions in the locations listed
below. Those accepting this bonus will be required to sign an agreement stating that
they will remain with the Agency for at least a year. This incentive will be offered until hiring
needs are met in these areas.
Recruitment Bonuses are currently authorized for the following locations listed below effective
